Strengths and Weaknesses
The South had many strengths. They were defending their homeland, and they had excellent shooters. They didn't want to lose any of their property, their country, or their freedom. Also, they had former officers in the U.S. Army. Their weaknesses were large, though. They had few railroads, factories or supplies and a small population in which 1/3 of it was enslaved. Their navy was poor, which was a strong disadvantage.
